Volunteering in Lima and Cusco This 1-month program allows you to discover the city of Lima and Cuzco, spending 15 days in each place. In Lima, you will learn first the traditional culture of Peru and receive a brief presentation of the country lasting 2 days, visiting the main places of interest and studying Peruvian history and modern urban culture. Then you will take the intensive Spanish course in Lima for a total of 40 hours, which will help you to have greater contact with and to communicate with local people. In addition, you will participate in voluntary service with a social project, as well as in cultural and recreational activities during the weekends. Volunteering in Cuzco is a great opportunity to explore a magical city where you will be able to learn a great deal about Peruvian culture and the Andean world, with all its magic and surprises. After these 15 days, you will go by plane to Cuzco, where during the first 2 days you will receive a brief presentation of the city, visiting the main sites, and participating in voluntary service, working and playing alongside poor children in their school. This program includes a supervisor, accommodation and 2 meals a day Monday to Friday.This program makes it possible for you to explore two sides of Peru; present-day Peru and its contemporary context and historical Peru in both Lima the capital, with its modern society and Cuzco with its traditions and ancient history.
Volunteers Responsibilities

Language
Spanish language is the language spoken on Peru, so you are going to need some survival spanish . It is good idea to have some knowledge of the language. On some site Leader may use a different language (usually English or French) to facilitate foreign participants' understanding , but if you don't speak Spanish we're going to prepare in Spanish in order to you can developed by yourself.
Security
All the social project are located in safe areas in addiction to that you are going to be in contact with someone of the association in order to help you.
Leisure activities
Peru is home to several tourist and cultural attractions in both the city of Lima and Cuzco; you can enjoy a good nightlife as you will find bars and discotheques open all night on the weekends; and during the day Peru Experience will organize optionally activities, excursion and trips to different places of your choice.
Accomodation:
Accommodation takes various forms according from one site to another. it is up of the project. In this program you're going to stay in an apartment with other volunteers for 15 days and then you are going to continue your stay with a Peruvian family.
Supervision
All volunteers are supervised by team leaders trained by Peru experience. One team leader is usually in charge of the volunteers. Each volunteer sets its own pace and timetable and its internal rules must be respected. To safeguard the group, the team leader acting as the person in charge is the only one allowed to decide if a person is or is not accepted.
Age
There is not age limit for volunteers open to 18-years-old and over. Most participants are 18-to-35 years old. Minors of 18 years old can participate with an authorization.
